The script is written and now let's see if Parko can play the role! The controversial single elimination format shook things up and whether you agree with it or not, it proved to be interesting and they did score some pretty filthy waves. Heats of Interest:

Slater vs Wright: Slater went looking for the tube too much and should have focused on the open face. Owen surfed exceptionally well and it seems like maybe it's time for Slater to move on... But wait, Slater at Chopes on his 5'3 is going to be the call! He did it at Pipe! Why not Chopes?

Smith vs Fanning: The cocky Saffa finally has started to shut up and let his surfing do the talking! This kid is going to do some damage this year. He will be a keeper on my picks for the season. Fanning, he wants the title again. He's hungry! But, is he hungry enough to take the title shot away from his best mate! Would you? I didn't think so.

The Three Darkhorses:

CJ Hobbledygood: He's hungry, on his way to divorce court and placed himself nicely within striking distance. With Tahiti coming up: It's game on. Shame his sponsor backed out of Fiji or this race would be considered tighter.

Freddy P: I wonder if I start drinking Budlight I might surf as well on my backhand as Freddy P? I think we might see a solid year from him. He's done well at Tahiti before. Maybe Quiksilver's plan on shrinking it's team might have anything to do with the fire under his arse?

Adam Robertson: Local underground WQS straggler who does good! Good on the kid. Even better is he gave the the surf industry the proverbial "up yours" by wearing a Hollister Hoodie during interviews! Maybe A&F will start sponsoring surfers and become more authentic than the big surf companies? Not bloody likely!

As for the Sundown Fantasy Club Winner for Bells it's Ibisurf who took a very close second at the Quik Pro and has now gone on to take the lead! He had an interesting roster that didn't even include Parko! Crazy! He had smart cheap choices who paid off with consistency. His top performers were: Fanning, a smart choice after his Quik Pro performance, Dingo Morrison, who is looking good but can't seem to get past the quarters, Jordy Smith, this kid is going to win an event this year!, and Kekoa Bacalso: The tank loved the thick walls of bells to match his power surfing. This kid is on a tear and may finally live up to his potential. Nice choices by Ibisurf. Please email me at Tyler@sundownski.com to receive your prize.

Tahiti is Next! Start getting your teams together!!! For more info go to
Fantasysurfer.com and sign up for the Sundown Fantasy Surfer Group!
Sundown has just gotten in heaps of boards from Bing, Jacobs and Rusty. It seems like most goofy foots today, surf good but are not raw and powerful. Nothing in the Occy mold at least! Everything is tight and technical. The Hobgoods are smooth and tight but lack a ferocious raw energy. Bobby Martinez again is technical and tight but lacks brute force! Where is the power goofy foot of this era? I haven't seen anyone really lay commitment onto a rail like Occ in years! The last person to hold up was Luke Egan! His surfing was nothing short of inspiring and I would have to say he is going to be the pick for the title this year. His surfing all through the event was nothing short of awe inspiring! In his Round Four Heat, he came back with a sick pick in the dying seconds of the comp! He then did it again in his Semi against Mick Fanning! Parko showed true determination and will be the one to watch. The disappointment for everyone had to be Slater. I think everyone had him on their teams. His 5'4 looked pretty sick but seemed to hold him back slightly. The big surprise of the event was Adriano De Souza! The kid shouldn't be a surprise since last year's steady climb but his domination of Taj in Semi 2 was nothing short of brilliant. And how about Dane and Jordy! Both surfed insane early on but Jordy couldn't find a decent wave in his heat and Dane was ripped off! He caught the sickest barrel at the end of his heat against Taj but the judges way underscored it. Check out Stabmag.com for the full story on that. In the Final, it looked like Adriano just couldn't find the rhythm he needed and Parko just looked comfortable and relaxed. He got those back to back barrels that the announcers couldn't get enough of and kep showing them over and over in slow motion. For an event that started out slow, it finished with a bang.
On the Sundown Fantasy Surfer group side of things, it was GMGsurfer who took out the win with a team consisting of:
Kelly Slater
Mick Fanning
Damien Hobgood
Dean Morrison
David Weare
Julian Wilson
Jordy Smith
Dane Reynolds

Slater was everyone's pick and you can see most people's numbers are lower than they would have been had they gone with Parko. The rest of the top five on Sundown's Fantasy Surfer Group goes like:
2nd-ibisurf (So close! Only 2 points separated them)
3rd-Sundown (What can I say?)
4th- NYRippa (Last Years Overall champ and still a danger man)
5th- I don't have a name (couldn't think of a name but got it right with the teams)

So if GMGSurfer would please stand up and send your contact info in order to win your prize, to tyler@sundownski.com.
Bells is up next and we will have to wait and see if Slater will be motivated to attend. Parko loves Bells and should continue his form.
Thanks everyone and see you at the next event.
-Seppo1

Join Sundown Fantasy Surf Club House and Win a Surfboard

After a Successful year of Fantasy Surf Competition, The Sundown Fantasy Surfer Group returns. Doug had just finished at the top of the Inaugural Sundown Fantasy Surfer Club Year End Ratings and is now crowned the Sundown Fantasy Surf Club Champ! He walked away with a sweet Quiet Flight 5'11" Squash and Two, count them, two FREE Roundtrip tickets to Puerto Rico on Jet Blue. Who wouldn't have a grin ear to ear?
Doug's consistency on the Fantasy Surfer Tour earned him the win but he also placed well within the top 500 of the overall Surfer Magazine Fantasy Surfer Group, which is huge considering there are over 20,000 participants! Doug had his teams picked for every comp and was on top of it when it counted most, especially in Brazil where almost half of the top 16 were no shows and everyone who wasn't paying attention had have their teams not counted. Obviously Slater was the main pick for everyone's team but the important picks were the lower rung guys who were cheap to purchase for teams. Doug was right on the money for almost every event. Pipe was his crowning Victory and was probably the one event that a lot of people may not have chosen Slater as their top pick. Doug stayed with his tried and true and clinched it. A special note: Slater's surfing at the 2008 Pipe Masters was BullS--t!! Riding a 5'10 in 6-8ft Pipe! That had to be one of the most enjoyable Pipe Masters to watch! IT was also sick to see Wardo break into the finals again.
Below are some picks The Champ and his new board! The World Tour begins in a couple of weeks. Slater is gunning for 10! The Sundown Fantasy Surf Club will be closing it's doors once the events starts. If you want to have a go at the Sundown Fantasy Surf Club this year, join now because after the second event at Bells, no new members will be able to join! Prizes and the Preview will be released soon. Stay tuned. Congrats to Doug Milstein for killing it this year. The guy is one of the nicest and coolest guys out there. Thank you to everyone who participated in Sundown's Fantasy Surfer Club. We were stoked on everyone's participation and hope to make it bigger next year.
Cheers,
Seppo1
Sundown Ski and Surf
516-796-1565
www.sundownsurf.com
www.sundownsurf.blogspot.com

Fantasy Surfer Winner Announced!!!

Sundown Ski and Surf would like to Congratulate NYrippa for winning the 1st Sundown Ski and Surf Fantasy Surfer Group! I've been an active surf film collector for over 20 years now. My library is now reaching the 400 mark. I have to say this is the golden era in surf film making. Never before has such a wide array and range of films have ever been put out. The quality just keep getting better and the bar is raised each year. I'm currently involved in helping to organize the New York Surf Film Festival and to be honest, I have never watched so many surf movies in such a short amount of time. Amongst a lot of the films that I have been viewing, for me, the one that sticks out the most is The Archy movie! It's rare that you get a pro surfer be candid and honest about their difficulties and it's even more rare to find a surf movie where the industry surfers are self critical of the Surf Industry itself. The music is top notch with everything from Bowie to the Buzzcocks! The editing is smooth and works off of a chronological order of events in Archy's life. The surfing... It's Archy, you can't go wrong! For all of those who have strayed to the darkside, or are curious about the less glamorous side of surfing, this movie will have you talking for days after. For the grommets who think Taj or Dane are gods, watch this movie and realize that without Archy, we'd all be surfing three to the beach doing white water floaters and wearing track suits to the beach! Know your roots!!! For the Archy die hards, get ready to quench your thirst for raw radical power surfing!!!
Enjoi
China Ty
Sundown Surf Shop 516-796-1565 www.sundownsurf.blogspot.com

And if your looking for something else, Sundown just got in the special 2 disk edition of Bra Boys!!! Watch Koby, Sunny, and Jai Abberton beat the crap out of police officers and charging some filthy gnarly pits!!!
Also in: Fitty-Fitty: The latest Metalstorm movie following Parko, Dingo and World Champ Mick Fanning on a boat trip in the Mentawais!!! Rip Curl Search Preview

Well, Slater has taken out 4 out of the last 5 events!!! It seems to be a run away season for the 8x world champ. We all know who is on everyone's team at the moment!!! Tavarua was Slater's from the get go. CJ put a up a good fight in a repeat of the 06' event final. Only instead of pumping Restaurants it was funky Cloudbreak. Many of the other contenders seemed to drop the ball. Especially Taj, Mick and Parko. All three are going to be the only ones with a chance of challenging Slater. AI has gone absent. He's consistent. But consistently making quarters and thats it. Expect him to shine at the Rip Curl Event in Indo. Then it was on to J-Bay where Slater just walked all over the competition. The only person to come clost to taking Slater down was Parko! He was the form surfer of the event. It was unfortunate that the conditions deteriorated to windy mush by the semis. Fanning was surfing smooth but not on. He never really seemed to be the standout surfer and the final was embarrassing for him. How many times did he fall in that final. The Slater voodoo worked. The surfer everyone needs to keep a close eye on this year is Adriano de Souza. This kid's surfing has finally started to mature and you can see the improvement in waves of consequences. He may still have a stink bug stance but he backhand barrel riding is just filth. He ran into Kelly again at Jeffries in the quarters. A rematch of their heat last year. Slater yet again proved to be just a bit too much for the young Brazilian. Everyone should be picking this guy for the Brazil Event. Now, onto the next event, the Rip Curl Somewhere event which will be in Indo. Everyone should be thinking goofyfooters! I think Martinez and the Hobgoods are going to break out in this event. AI will be gunning for his third Rip Curl Search win. And I bet Slater is now thinking of trying to breka the record for the most wins in a season, now shared by Damien Hardman, Tom Curren and Kelly Slater with 7 wins. Slater is going for 8 wins. The one person who I reckon will be a good buy is Bruno Santos. He's the only other surfer to have won an event this year other than Slater. He's a good cheap buy and he charges left hand barrels. This event should be interesting and all we know is that the contest is being held at a left hander that is notorious for being hard on the backhand. And now for the Sundown Fantasy Surf Club winner. Yup that is right! Coastal Conviction has been on a roll, claiming the last two events and is now climbing the ratings. Coastal just squeeked out a win in the last event at J-bay with 764 points. Firesurf was next with 763. How close is that!!! Coastal Conviction needs to email me @ sundownskisurf@gmail.com in order to receive their prize from Sundown. Good luck to Everyone with the Rip Curl Event. SUP Yo!!!

Stand Up Paddle Board Rentals @ Sundown

Yes, you've seen Laird riding one! Even Machado is a fanatic. It's easy to imagine yourself standing atop of a massive board, paddle in hand. Looking stoic and regal. Like some Hawaiian Royalty. You can tell yourself your now a waterman! Buy one of these SUP and you'll not only be paddling into overhead bombs, but it's going to motivate you to train, run underwater with stones, spearfish and all those other waterman activities. It's easy to get carried away when your daydreaming.

The Stand Up Paddle boards are a lot of fun and are perfect for those small micro days when it's otherwise unridable. But don't kid yourself into thinking your gonna be like Laird. The SUP are definitely not as easy as they look. I recommend trying it out in the bay first. Otherwise it's gonna be a lot of falling and getting up again and again and again.

SUP is definitely a lot of fun and if you have the urge to give it a try and wanna feel like Laird, come down to Sundown to rent out some SUPs.

Rentals start at $75 for 24 hrs. or you can rent them for $150 for 3 days.

One day Rental Credits can be used toward any new SUP Purchase.

Come on down and check em out yo!

516-796-1565

Keep on dreaming...

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://sundownsurf.blogspot.com/2008/06/wuzsup-sup-yo.html' title='Wuz'SUP? That hasn't been done since the tour switched to a two tiered system in 92'.
The second day of the comp was action pact and there were at least 5 not to miss heats. I'm going to start by acknowledging that I was way off on my predictions for this event. Everyone in the top 5 dropped out by the end of round 3. Fanning was handed his first 33rd since Simon Anderson put three fins on a board. His consistent run finally came to an end and it seems like the fanning from last year is on holiday. The big surprise was Slater's early exit to eventual finalist Manoa Drollet. It started slow for Slater, with a loss in round 1 to Drollet. Then it was redemption time against former boy wonder now man/freak Jamie O'Brien. Slates killed it and for a few moments, you thought the motivation was back and it was going to be a three-peat. This heat was spectacular. Slater crushed O'Brien. when you compare the surfing in that heat against a majority of the top 48, it was leaps and bounds above the rest. But then Slater was against Drollet and it was a shocker. Slater was pulling into anything that moved and had he made some of the waves he could have done it but the conditions never came together and Drollet got one real decent score and it was over.

I was right with one of the predictions, Bede did not disappoint and he flopped in round 3 to an unstoppable Chris Ward. Wardo threw himself into the most critical waves and pulled it with control and style. I mean, some people when they surf barrels backhand, they may drag a hand or if they are really good they'll drag their arse a little bit. Wardo, He freaking dragged his body! I mean full body buried into the face and then getting shacked so deep. Great surfing from a guy who might go to jail.

The suprise surfer of the comp had to have been Adriano De Souza! The little Brazo kid looked solid and seemed to shake off his small surfer moniker. The kid can get pitted! He scored one of the highest heat totals of the comp!

The most hyped heat was the Dane v Jordy heat! It had potential but Jordy just didn't have it. Dane killed it. I mean, the kid went right at Chopes and not only made it but even pulled a couple of turns. Then he proceeded to get pounded on the reef but one could see that Dane's surfing in critical waves was a step above Jordy. Jordy pulled a sweat air reverse right onto the inside reef only to turn around and see Dane get perfectly slotted on a bigger and more critical wave. So far, it's Dane who is turning out to be the real deal and Jordy has just not really lived up tot he hype. Jeffrey's is going to be the make it or break it comp for Jordy. If he doesn't get a result there, consider the year a failure for him. As for Dane, his year is already a success in my book. He's in the top 10 already. He's a real threat to take out a comp this year. Dane v Jordy: 1-0

Andy had a chance to gain ground this comp and put himself back into contention but for him it was another quarters finish. Parko took him down this time. I don't see the hunger anymore. I think we could soon see Andy take a semi retirement soon. What's the point in him being on tour if he's not in it to win it?

Parko and CJ did a great job to gain some ground. Parko showed he really wanted it after he pulled a "Dooma" on Tiago Pieres and forced an interference. Game, Set, Match!

CJ was on fire!!! He looked like the man to beat throughout the whole comp. I think we could see a big result from him in Fiji!

The final was anti-climatic with the Brazo, Bruno Santos getting the only real barrel during the whole heat. The sentimental favorite was Drollet but it was not meant to be. Either way, it was quite an accomplishment for two wild cards to make the final. The last time that happened was at the 97' Pipe Masters with Mike Ho and Johnny Boy Gomes.

Now, Tavarua is up next! Damo Hobgood is back and will be taking the place on. Look for him to make a dent. He's gonna want make up for missing his bread and butter event. Slater is still going to be the favorite and if anyone who has seen his "Letting Go" movie will know that he dominates the place. I think Dane could be a dark horse at this event. CJ is also going to be the one to watch. One last pick is Kai Otton. If the surf is pumping he's going to be the one charging the hardest.

There is no break for the tour surfers. Tavarua starts this weekend. Game on!!!

Now for the Fantasy Surfer Ratings.

LISurfer has surged to the lead with a solid performance for the Billabong. LISurfer's saving pick was Manoa Drollet. That put them right up at the top. Catchafire holds onto Second place with Swampfox in third, Bonebratz in 4th and yours truly rounding out the Top 5. BoneBratz had a great showing with a second place for the Billabong. The points are close and anyone int he top 5 can steal the lead with the next event. Puerto Rico is looking closer and closer.

LISurfer will receive a 25% off Gift card at Sundown Ski and Surf.

Remember everyone else, The overall winner will get a free roundtrip plane ticket to PR from NY. So choose carefully for your next few events. They are going to be critical events.

Good luck and Live Viewings of the Globe Fiji Pro at Sundown all throughout the week. Call to check if the comp is on. 516-796-1565

For overall rankings go to Sundown Fantasy Surfer Group

Cheers

China Ty

Sundown Ski and Surf

516-796-1565

www.sundownsurf.com

www.sundownsurf.blogspot.com

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://sundownsurf.blogspot.com/2008/05/wild-cards-run-wild-billabong-pro.html' title='Wild Cards Run Wild! That's right, four-deen mate!

Quiet Flight has been around for ages. I remember family trips down to Florida and staying in Cocoa Beach. We would drive our family mini van from NY and head all the way down to Slater's birth place. There would be the occasional stop at South of the Border and a must stop at the Waffle House. It would be painful drive but by the time we had gotten ourselves settled in Cocoa Beach and had gone for a surf check, it was all forgotten. A stop at the Quiet Flight Shop was mandatory. They always had the nicest boards and I'd get stoked on the Richie Rudolph models, lime green and boxy rails. My Step-bro had bought one one year and that board lasted for at least 4 years without a tinge of yellowing.

We just got the latest models in, including some Stinger's, Quads, and even a board the is reminiscent of Richie Rudolph's old board. Of course it's a bit updated with a bat tail and quad fins but the coloring is the same. Come in and give them a feel...

-China Ty

<img style="cursor:pointer; Da Kine just arrived with kine leashes and traction pads!
Let's not stop there! Creatures of Leisure are in as well and that stuff is looking oh so nice! We got the slim fit travel bags in. It's great for fitting 2+ boards without the bulk. I reckon it also works nice as a day bag as well. Where were these bags when I was out on the road?

Oh, and we got finzzzzzz! True Aaaaaaames! (Go on, say it like Fonzie! Ayyyyyyyyyy!)

Futures and FCS are also looking nice. What you looking for bra? Quads, twins, foiled, it's all there and all good. Can't afford a new board? Get new fins! Curren would approve!

-China Ty

Quote of the Day: "It's not dying that scares me, it's living that scares me to death!" -El Kelly Slater, from the movie "What Next!" from Marshal Hatori.

This film had sick Slater at J-Bay and Rob Machado in Reunion and the Timmy Curran segment is sick surfing but lame skit. Hattori went on to make a few other Surf Films, he was dubbed the Quentin Tarrantino of surf films. He went on to make a movie called Surfing as "Surfing as Sadhana" which caused an uproar because apparently there were some shots of Veronica Kay and Stephen Slater implying they are doing drugs and VK's Parents tried to sue him. Lame! People should take responsibility for their actions. If you know you're being filmed and you don't want people to know what you do, don't do it in front of a camera. By the way, where is VK these days?

Terry Martin Reprezent! Hobie taught him to work with a skil 100 and he's been there ever since. We just got these incredible functional pieces of art. Only these boards are meant to be ridden. They might look nice hung up on a wall but I can think of a few other nice walls they'd go great in... The acid splash resin tints are insane! Pure craftsmanship! He killed the trials and his cocky arrogant style of surfing is what this wave demands in order to perform. He's also super cheap right now, freeing up some extra cash to make a purchase for a certain surfer that seems to be on fire. El Slay-tor! But, it all depends on if the surf provides. If it was like last year, we could see Jeremy Flores win which would be a bit of a disappointment in my opinion. No offense to Flores but when I think of Champs for this event, his name is no where near the radar screen. I may eat my words here but I wouldn't put money down on Bede. He's surfing great but his backhand attack is lacking in sizable surf. He's a tall bloke which increases his chance to get smacked by the lip there. As for Fanning, we will see. He had a great result last year but this year his motivation doesn't seem as intense. It's as if Slater just took the wind out of his sails after the final at the Quik Pro. The big question is, will AI step up finally and surf like he should be surfing. The two quarters he had with Slater this year were just disappointing. All the media guys have been making excuses or glancing over his losses, saying "oh, the waves were crap for that heat and he lost motivation." That's BS mate! If you are in a heat with Slater, especially him, that should be motivation enough. He hasn't had a real good result at Chopes in a long time. His name used to be synonymous with the place. Now, he's just another competitor who has been waxed by Dean Morrison a handful of times in recent pasts at this spot. Dingo is the the dark horse to keep an eye on. He thrives on big hollow lefts! A definite for your teams. And how about the Hobgoods. Always a good bet to take the whole thing. Even Damo who busted his shoulder a few weeks ago. That guy is either extremely motivated, crazy or just plain stupid. We will see this coming week. A High is now dominating the region and it is looking like there will not be any big waves for the beginning of the event. Hopefully it doesn't end up like last year or worse... A french Flag being flown with Flores being handed a Hinano in the channel... Good luck to everyone and if you are in the area, Sundown will be watching the event Live at the shop. So come down if you have some time to kill and want to watch the comp with others and talk s--t. 2726 Hempstead Turnpike, just east of the Wantaugh Parkway. It was something to do with his outline that I was never really into. My conversion started this winter at one of the surf trade shows. It was the El Quatro model that caught my eye. The nose was a bit fuller but not fish/funboard wide, just a bit more beef for added floatation and paddling. What stoked me out on this board is the double bump wings that start at just a quarter of the way up from the tail. Then it ends with a nice Diamond tail, perfect for letting you round out your turns a bit more. And I'm on a quad kick lately. So, you've got this perfect summer board that you can utilize the rails fully but still apply pressure to the tail and make a nice tight turn. Quads can be great for rounding out your turns but sometimes it can make tighter tuns a little harder to come by. Obviously depending on the board shape but this thing is going to fly and snap perfectly in the pocket. Check out some of the latest JC's we just got in below. The SD3 (Shane Dorian Model) is looking pretty filthy! It's going to go insane in some decent waves! Come and get em while their hot...
Also, We got Quiet Flights on their way! Those boards are going to so sick!

Cheers,

-China Ty

Sundown Fantasy Surfer Group: De Ja Vu: Slater makes it 2 in a row! Repeats 06'

Well, It looks like Slater's easy going non-chalant attitude is paying off. It seems like everyone is copying Mick's strategy of hard training and psyching up, except Slater and it seems to be working. I believe the optimum proverb would be "effortless effort". Slater is just cruising through heats and just having a ball. The other form surfer of the event was Dane Reynolds who seems to almost adopt Slater's technique of not worrying and just going out and ripping! His easrly round heats were mind blowing! Look for everyone to next year have a more apathetic aproach to the tour. Everyone on th tour next year will be saying " I don't know if I'm going to the next comp? Maybe I will, maybe I won't?" Dane's surfing was pure and radical. It was a shame his luck ran out against Taj. Taj is serious about winning a title but it's like he's trying too hard. He never really caught form the whole event. He seemed to force his way past heats but never had the magic. The waves seemed to crap out towards the end of the comp and he just happened to get the better waves than Dane. The biggest suprise was Bede. It really shouldn't be anymore! He's on fire! He's so calm and cool. You never see him show any emotions. He's also one of the few surfers to rattle Slater. But look for him to slow his pace over the next leg. Chopes and Tavarua seem to be his achilles heal. This is the leg that the regular foots need to step up! Fanning needs a good result in Tahiti to have any chance at a repeat title. Parko, has never really been a standout at these events as well and if he doesn't produce anything here, consider the rest of the year a wash out. This is normally when Slater can really distance himself from his competitors. Andy used to be one of the few to challenge Slater at these locations but it seems like his fire has gone out. Two quaterfinal losses to Slater in a row! Something is up! His heat against Slater was just a shocker! I keep reading about how fired up he is and how he's been training but he has yet to deliver. Also, he hasn't had a real result at Chopes in ages! Gone are the days of his psycho late drops and domination of the break? We shall see... Perhaps the most overlooked and least talked about heat was Bobby Martinez's quaterfinal against Fanning! The dude took out Fanning in difficult Bells conditions on his backhand!!! I think Tahiti could be a good event for Bobby! He will definitely be a favorite pick for the upcoming Pacific events! As far as the Sundown Fantasy Surfer Group is concerned we have a new group leader and an event winner! Swampfox2 took the event with a strong team: Taj, Bobby, Parko, Tommy Whits, Dayan, Perrow, Jordy and Dane! 4 of them finished a quater or higher and two of them made the semis! Swampfox2 needs to email sundownskisurf@gmail.com to collect. The New Group leader is Catchafire! Catchafire has a slight lead over your truly Sundown. Don't worry, I'm not collecting any prizes or trying to steal anyone's thunder. Catchafire had a killer team for this event. The only problem is their team was one team member short and alas, they were not able to collect the full points possible. But shoots, they damn well nearly did it! Look at this team: Slater, Parko, Reyes, Durbidge, Otten, Smith, Reynolds!!! I reckon if Smith pulled his head out of his arse, Catchafire would have won the event as well! It was a good showing for this event. Chopes is next!!! Start researching your teams! Wait and see who the wildcards are and good luck! For those of you competing in Sundown Fantasy Surfer Group Comp get ready for Teahupoo and if you haven't emailed me your info, please email me at sundownskisurf@gmail.com so you can collect your prizes if you win! We had just got in from a late afternoon/early evening surf. The sun was now setting and a mate of mine from Oz handed me a bottle of Pilsen Trujillo Cerveza.
